Well our trip to India was postponed to a later date that is yet to be determined. Originally I would have left Yesterday, but due to the economy and the November attacks in Mumbai it was decided that we should push the trip to a later date.
So as for now, I don't have any international trips on the horizon. However, we did just get back from a Economic Development trip to New York City a few weeks ago. All of the hard work paid off - the trip was a success! We took around 30 business leaders as well as the Mayor of Nashville and our State Commissioner of Economic Development. They called on companies who have a Nashville presence as well as prospects. We also had a breakfast event with around 70 people in attendance and a reception with around 100 people. The reception was at SIRIUS XM headquarters. We had 3 songwriters sing in the round which was taped and aired on SIRIUS XM. The songwriters were Hal Ketchum, Steve Azar (a Delta boy) and James House. They were fantastic! After the show we picked up my friend Martha Anne who is now a NYC local and headed to dinner and out with the songwriters and others. What a fun night!! We first ate at Rodeos - and after dinner Hal and James got on stage to sing a few songs. After that a few of the folks went home, but around 8 or 10 of us ended up at a "speak easy" - which was in a hot dog stand..... Very random night, but so fun!
